Advanced EMDR Training

The Dance of Attachment: a Relational Approach

with Deany Laliotis • Online • Starting March 12, 2021

Healing wounds of attachment that are rooted in developmental trauma—it’s one of the greatest clinical challenges we encounter.

This Advanced EMDR Training Is Laser-Focused on Giving You Everything You Need to Meet That Challenge

Here are some of the things you’ll take away from this practice-transforming course:

  • a solid understanding of the four attachment styles and patterns of response for each
  • the ability to recognize clients’ adaptations to early caregivers that don’t serve them well in the present
  • insight into your own attachment style, your vulnerabilities and how to get back on track when you’ve been triggered
  • strategies for transforming “moments of collision” into “moments of meeting” and opportunities for growth
  • increased capacity for being present and attuned so you can track your client’s—and your own— emotional and somatic experience moment by moment
  • the ability to establish a “good enough” relationship with clients as the foundation for processing past experiences including those formed outside the domain of language and explicit memory networks
  • This advanced EMDR training combines all these advantages and more in a professional and personal growth experience that will take your clinical practice to a new level of effectiveness, satisfaction and healing.

Step into the Fullness of EMDR
as a Comprehensive Psychotherapy

This EMDR advanced training is unique in three distinct ways. First of all, it’s integrative—combining attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, somatic processes and parts work within an EMDR healing framework. Secondly, it’s relational—increasing your awareness of the dynamic between therapist and client and strengthening your ability to use the healing power of that relationship both in and out of processing. Finally, it’s transformative—preparing you to apply new skills and bring healing and stability to even your most challenging clients. You’ll learn to

  • harness mindfulness practices to enhance your tracking of client’s somatic and emotional shifts while simultaneously tracking your own states and responses
  • utilize a parts perspective to characterize your own reaction to a client’s presentation
  • disarm defensive patterns of response with Defense Interweave strategies
  • regulate arousal states and facilitate dual awareness with Experiential and Relational Interweaves
  • help clients develop alternative, adaptive relational patterns using the Future Template
  • keep the therapeutic process dynamic by renegotiating the focus of treatment using the Re-evaluation phase of EMDR therapy
